Stormwater Screens

Physical debris screening for stormwater pits and trade waste systems

Australia-wide delivery with standard and custom system configurations available.

Trade Enviro is an Australian environmental compliance supplier providing stormwater screens designed for regulated industrial and commercial environments.

Row of custom stormwater screens

Stormwater screens are physical debris exclusion devices installed within pits and drains to capture rubbish, sediment, and coarse solids before they enter downstream stormwater or trade waste systems. They are commonly used as pre-treatment screens to reduce blockages and protect pumps, valves, and filtration equipment.

Construction and Configuration

Trade Enviro supplies custom-fabricated stormwater screens manufactured from stainless steel and sized to suit existing pits and drains.

Screens are designed to:

  • Retrofit into existing stormwater pits
  • Sit upstream of sensitive equipment
  • Capture debris at the source, as close as possible to the inlet

Each screen is built to suit site-specific pit dimensions and access constraints.

Where Stormwater Screens Are Used

Stormwater screens are commonly used in:

  • Industrial facilities with exposed stormwater pits
  • Trade waste systems requiring pre-screening
  • Sites with pumps, valves, or filters requiring debris protection
  • Locations where manual debris removal is preferred over pump-out

Removing debris from a screen at the pit is typically more practical than removing sediment from downstream holding tanks.

Important Operational Considerations

Important: Stormwater screens are designed to collect debris, not treat pollutants. As screens capture material, flow capacity can be reduced. Regular inspection and manual cleaning is required to maintain performance. Screens function similarly to waste collection devices and should be serviced as part of routine site maintenance.

Custom Options

Stormwater screens can be fabricated to suit:

  • Small or irregular pit dimensions
  • Existing drainage infrastructure
  • Specific access or lifting requirements

Custom sizing ensures compatibility with existing pits while maintaining appropriate flow characteristic
